Currently Certified in Authentic Pilates with Sean Gallagher and the New York Pilates Studio© 2019-2021
Continuing education with Sean Gallagher and Elaine Ewing (Owner Rhinebeck Pilates) remains a passion of mine. I attend regular conferences at Jacob’s Pillow, Pilates at the Pillow® and at Rhinebeck Pilates, I simply just can’t get enough of the next-level dedication, historical value, and authenticity of Sean and Elaine.
My first Pilates experience was a mat class was in 1995. Instructor, Lisa Hoffmaster, a student of Pilates elder Romana Krysanowska, and physical therapist with a dance background, utilized Pilates for rehab as well as fitness. She pointed out several imbalances in my body that resulted from a severe back injury while dancing. Pilates changed my whole body, brought me back in balance, and stirred a new passion in pain-free movement.
My Pilates teaching journey started in 2008 with a Power Pilates mat and apparatus certification. In 2010 I completed a Comprehensive Apprenticeship with Master Trainer, Bob Liekens, training with seasoned Pilates professionals to complete a cumulative 800 hours.
Elevation Pilates opened its doors in 2012. Every day is still a learning experience as I witness positive changes Pilates brings to chronic weakness; creating strength, stability, and flexibility in my clients.
My client list includes women and men ages 18-86, elite dancers and athletes, pre and post physical therapy clients, and pregnancy clients.

Ann came to Elevation Pilates as a client in 2015. After years of working on her feet all day as a stylist, Ann knew that she needed to find a fitness system to help with low back pain and give her longevity. Pilates helped her strengthen her core and increase her stability and stamina in an industry that requires great physical demands.
Ann quickly decided that she wanted to embark on teacher training to get an in depth knowledge of the Pilates Method working system and help others in the same way it helped her. She did her comprehensive 500 hour training with Jennifer DeLuca of Bodytonics Pilates Gymnasium, Brooklyn NY at Elaine Ewings studio, Rhinebeck Pilates, Rhinebeck NY. She took hours of classes and observation from Jennifer and Elaine. Ann also apprenticed and gained further education at Elevation Pilates, Glens Falls NY, with Kathy Porcell.
Ann’s continuing education includes Pilates at the Pillow® workshops with Elaine Ewing and Sean Gallagher along with additional Rhinebeck Pilates workshops.
Ann loves to spend time with her husband Sigh visiting her granddaughter and great-grandson in Florida.

My Pilates journey began more than twelve years ago when I realized I could barely bend down to tie my shoes. I knew something had to change. I started taking classes with Kathy Porcell at Elevation Pilates, and what began as a way to move more comfortably soon transformed the way I viewed my body, movement, and health.
Through consistent practice, I discovered that Pilates is about much more than exercise. It builds strength, improves mobility, restores confidence, and teaches us to work with our bodies through every stage of life.
My passion for Pilates inspired me to begin my Pilates instructor training, and I am excited to continue growing as a teacher while helping others experience the same benefits that changed my life.
Alongside my Pilates training, I am a certified Relationship Coach and a lifelong artist. These experiences have taught me to see each person as unique. Whether I am coaching or teaching movement, my goal is the same: to listen carefully, understand each individual’s needs, and create a program that is tailored specifically to their body, goals, and lifestyle.
I believe movement should never be one-size-fits-all. My aim is to help every client become stronger, move with greater ease, and feel more at home in their own body.

With over 11 years of personal Pilates practice, Jennifer Leland discovered a profound passion for the authentic approach to the Pilates Method. Now a dedicated instructor in training, Jenn is committed to sharing the original teachings of Joseph Pilates and the classical teachings in the lineage of Romana Kryzanowska. Jenn is actively working towards her comprehensive certification training under Elevation Pilates owner, Kathy Porcell. At Elevation Pilates we believe in mindful movement, strengthening the whole body with core musculature control. Jenn is excited to help clients achieve their fitness and wellness goals through the power of classical Pilates.
Pilates is a method of body conditioning performed through a systematic series of controlled movements training the mind and body to work together. While this mindful movement targets abdominal and core muscles supporting the spine, the whole body is engaged in each exercise for a full body workout. Balance throughout the body is achieved through the rhythmic precision of each exercise focusing on centering/stabilization, control, concentration, flow/efficiency of movement, breath and precision. It’s all in the details. Mat work is the structural frame for Joseph Pilates’ Contrology Method. Apparatus such as the Reformer, Cadillac or Trapeze Table/Tower, High Chair, Wunda Chair, Barrels and Magic Circle add support, resistance and challenge to the overall practice.
